In 1989, a group of dedicated parents and supporters of Community Christian School knew that depending on tuition alone would not provide a firm financial footing for the ongoing operation of the school in the years to come. The school has always leaned on the support of the Christian Reformed Churches and the community to help support Christian education.
The CCS Foundation takes in contributions of cash, life insurance, bequests, estates, and other assets, and uses the interest earnings income for the sole benefit of Community Christian School, its students and succeeding generations. The Foundation was established with the goal of assuring the continued legacy of Christian education at CCS and safeguarding the school’s financial stability. Over the years, the CCS Foundation has provided thousands of dollars to CCS!
As a donor, your gift creates a sustained benefit to programs and priorities at CCS that are most significant to you. A robust Foundation helps keep tuition affordable for families desiring a Christian education for their children.
As a parent, the benefit of the Foundation comes in the form of enhancing a program or offsetting operating costs. In other words, it supports affordability without sacrificing the quality of your student’s CCS education.
For CCS, the Foundation is important to protecting and preserving our commitment to Christ-centered education. Investment income can provide stability and relieve pressure as the economy changes.
The Foundation Board is steadfast in its stewardship of the Foundation, and strives to foster growth. Over the years, the endowment has grown significantly and is able to contribute to the school’s annual budget twice a year.
Every gift makes a difference and will provide for generations of CCS families!

HOW TO MAKE A LEGACY GIFT – GIFTS NOW AND GIFTS LATER
Cash
A simple way to give. Supporters may give a one-time gift, a gift of monthly payments, or make a pledge of a one, two, or three+ year commitment to the CCS Foundation.
Marketable Securities
These include stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
Contracts/Note Receivables
Contracts of various forms often have an impact on one's income and, subsequently, tax liabilities. CCS Foundation can accept these as a charity donation, which will benefit the school and giver as well.
Life Insurance Policies
Name the CCS Foundation as a beneficiary in a new or current policy and provide a substantial gift through small premium payments. Consider CCS before dropping or discontinuing a life insurance policy.
401K, 403B, and IRA/Retirement Gifts
Maximize the value of your gift by avoiding income and estate taxes.
Estate Planning
Consider including the CCS Foundation as part of your estate plan. Naming the CCS Foundation as a beneficiary of an IRA or 401k account is a great way to pass assets at death on a tax-free basis. This can be as simple as changing the beneficiary designation on an account. Another way to accomplish this is to include the CCS Foundation in your will. Talk to your financial planner and/or estate-planning attorney for more information and make sure your beneficiary designations are up-to-date and reflect your wishes.
Honoring the Past - Continuing the Legacy
Many friends and families have designated Community Christian School (CCS) to be a beneficiary in their estate planning. This is an amazing way to ensure the health and quality of Christian education in our small, rural community.
